Single vehicle crash claims life of Ellendale man

FELTON, Del. – Delaware State Police say a single vehicle crash claimed the life of an Ellendale man late Tuesday night.

At around 11 p.m., police say a 2003 Honda Accord was traveling southbound on Canterbury Road, south of Roesville Road, approaching the Coursey Pond boat ramp. The 29-year-old male driver reportedly failed to negotiate the curve in the roadway and lost control of the vehicle, and as a result crossed over the northbound lane and shoulder, exited the east edge of the road, and drove in an uncontrolled manner through a grassy embankment and over several driveway entrances. The vehicle then steered back towards Canterbury Road before it flipped several times and came to a rest on its roof.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Identification is pending notification of next of kin.
