SHORE UP! welcoming back children March 1 for in-person learning

SALISBURY, Md.- SHORE UP! is beginning a phased approach to in-person learning for their Early Head Start and Head Start Programs.

These programs help children in low income households get a head start in education.

Because of the pandemic learning for these programs went virtual, March 1st Early Head Start and Head Start facilities will offer in-person learning for students.

We are told right now class sizes will not be as large, and they will follow all CDC guidelines.

And although there will be some changes, SHORE UP! hopes to bring a sense of normalcy back into the lives of these families.

“We will definitely make sure your children are safe while they are with us,” Dr. Corey Bowen, Director of Early Head Start and Head Start Programs, said. “Our overall goal for Head Start and Early Head Start is school readiness so the more that we can do to help those children get ready for public school which will be kindergarten in this case that’s what we want to do.”

We are told staff went through a mandated COVID training.

There will be temperature checks before the children come in and there will be no visitors allowed in the centers.

For parents who do not want to send their kids back right now, the center will still have a virtual learning option.
