School District investigating ‘unacceptable’ Black History Month lesson
WYOMING, Del. – The Caesar Rodney School District is investigating after a video was sent to students at the McIlvaine Early Childhood Center related to Black History Month.
The video contains a yoga lesson, but relates the poses to Black History. The instructor is heard telling students that African Americans plowed fields and then tells students to try the plow pose.
The school district released a statement early Friday morning saying they are investigating the lesson, that they consider “unacceptable and not consistent with Caesar Rodney School District values.”
