SALISBURY, Md. – A vehicle crash led to multiple charges for two in Salisbury over the weekend.

At around 4:45 a.m. Sunday, a deputy with the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of Jersey and Adkins Roads for a report of a vehicle in a ditch. On arrival, 61-year-old Larry Blankenship was identified as the driver, and the deputy observed signs that Blankenship was under the influence of alcohol. Further investigation was conducted, and Blankenship was eventually placed under arrest for DUI.

As the deputy was arresting Blankenship, his passenger and girlfriend, 49-year-old Michele Jones, reportedly approached the deputy in an aggressive manner and kicked the deputy twice in the shin. Jones was also placed under arrest.

Blankenship was held on a DUI charge, while Jones was charged with interfering with an arrest, second degree assault on law enforcement, and obstruct and hinder, and released on personal recognizance.
