Online opportunity for female entrepreneurs

DELAWARE – 2021 marks the 100th anniversary of Women’s Suffrage. To celebrate — the Small Business Administration recently launched its online ascent platform aimed at female entrepreneurs who want to grow and scale their small businesses.

According to SBA’s director, ascent lets female entrepreneurs chart their own learning course to start and grow their small businesses. This comes with the efforts to close the gaps and break down barriers for female entrepreneurs.

Ascent offers exercises and tools, expert insights, videos, self assessments and much more. Program directors say this tool is accessible and easy to use, giving women a greater opportunity to achieve their business goals.

“At the end of the day we want to see success stories we want to see business growth, and employment opportunities,” says John Fleming, Regional Director of SBA. “It’s free to use, it’s something that’s paid for by tax dollars so everyone should check it out, use it and help their businesses grow from it.”

Program officials say, although this program is aimed at female entrepreneurs, anyone will find the tool useful in planning a startup or guiding an existing business along a smoother path to profitability.
