Heather Mizeur announces in congressional race to challenge Andy Harris
A second candidate has thrown her hat in the ring against Representative Andy Harris, after he made waves in his attempt to bring a gun onto the house floor.
Heather Mizeur is no stranger to the political fray, having served in the Maryland house of delegates and having run for governor in 2014.
She joins Matt Talley in the Democratic primary race, as she too was inspired to run after the Harris incident.
Mizeur has a farm in Chester and promotes the Eastern Shore as one of the chief focuses of her campaign, remarking that transportation and finding healthcare providers in some rural parts can be a challenge.
Mizeur describes herself as a progressive bridge builder, wanting to be a calming and experienced presence in a divisive political world.
She tells 47ABC about the Harris incident, “These are activities that are really unbecoming for a member of congress, and this district is ready for dignified, heart centered leadership that is focused on bridging the political divide, bringing the us together to address the big issues we face in this district.”
