Drunk driver hits police car at traffic light
WICOMICO COUNTY, Md.– A sheriffs deputy was struck by a drunk driver while sitting in his patrol car at a traffic light early Sunday morning.
29 year old Michael Belich of Salisbury, was allegedly driving at full speed when he collided with the patrol car on south division street at the intersection of dykes road around 2 A.M.
The officer did not sustain any serious injuries, and during the investigation the deputy says they detected a strong odor of an alcohol coming from Belich.
Belich was released to a family member and was charged with DUI, Negligent Driving, and Failure to Control Speed to Avoid a Collision.
