CR wrestling holds on late for the huge win over Cape

CAMDEN, Del.- Behind four straight class wins from the 160’s to the 195’s, the Caesar Rodney Riders defeated Cape Henlopen 37-24 to move to 6-2 on the season. The loss drops Cape to 5-2 to start the season.

The Riders jumped out to an early 13-0 lead to start the match. After a CR pin by Cam Cataldi in the 126’s, the Vikings began to make a comeback. Two pins and a forfeit later, Cape was on top for the first time of the night with a 12-13 lead headed into the 160 class match. From the 160 pounders to the 195’s, the Riders went 4-0 to retake the lead and held on from there. The Riders take it 37-24 to move to 6-2 on the year.

Caesar Rodney returns to the mats net Monday when they travel to Clayton to take on First State Military Academy at 3:30. Cape will look to get back on track Saturday when they take the trip to Smyrna to take on the Eagles.
