UPDATE: Car crash in Magnolia leaves one dead

MAGNOLIA, Del.– Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened late Saturday night.

Police say the crash happened around 10:45 p.m. on McGinnis Pond Road, when a 2019 Acura was reportedly going around a sharp bend in the roadway while heading south. Troopers say the driver then crossed into the northbound lane and went off the road, going through a private yard and hitting a tree.

After the crash, the car spun and came to a stop and then caught fire.

The driver suffered minor injuries, but the passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger has been identified as 39-year-old Tracy Hanggi of Felton.
