Big fourth quarter boosts Dover past Central

DOVER, Del.- Behind 14 points from Jaheim Harrell and 12 from Amir Hite, the Dover Senators defeated Sussex Central 56-40 to move to 5-2 on the year. The loss drops the Golden Knights to 5-3.

Both teams came into tonight feeling good, the Knights with a huge three point win over one of the best teams in the Henlopen in Caesar Rodney. The Senators off just a three point loss to undefeated Smyrna.

Dover came out hot, jumping out to a seven point lead forcing turnover after turnover to end the first. Led by six points from sophomore Jaheim Harrell, the Senators were ahead by as many as 14 in the second quarter. After a Central timeout, the Knights began to build some momentum. Three first half three pointers from senior guard Deontae Spencer, the Sussex Central cut the lead to just four at half.

With possession to start the second half, Central kept up the momentum. On a 6-2 run to open, the Knights tied the game at 28 just two minutes in forcing a Dover time out. Out of the time out, the Senators had new life. Behind 17 combined points from Harrell and Amir Hite, Dover led by as many as 20 in the second half and held on for the 56-40 win.

The Senators return to the floor next Tuesday when they host Caesar Rodney in a rematch of their week one matchup, CR took that one 63-51. The Knights look to get back on track when they host Milford next Tuesday. Central took their first meeting by one, 58-57.
