Appointments open for second-dose COVID-19 vaccinations at FEMA Dover clinic

Expanding Equlity And Access To Vaccines

DOVER, Del. – Individuals who received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine 28 or more days ago from a pharmacy, medical provider, clinic, or other source in Delaware and have not yet received a second dose may sign up for an appointment on Friday at the ongoing vaccination event at the Dover International Speedway.

Those included in the new eligibility window should make their appointments for this Friday before 6 p.m. tonight, February 25th. This is a wider eligibility window than previously announced earlier this week.

Those being vaccinated will need to show their vaccination card to prove they received their first dose on or before January 29th. These vaccinations are for individuals who live, work, or obtain their healthcare in Delaware and received their first dose in Delaware.

Officials say many individuals vaccinated at this event have reported the whole process, including registration, vaccination, and the post-vaccination observation period, taking 30 to 45 minutes from when they arrive to when they leave.

Scheduling for Friday’s appointments opened at 10 a.m. today. Online registration is urged, but those without internet access can call DPH at 1-833-643-1715. Online appointments can be made here. Individuals will have the option to create an appointment for someone else after they create their own, however, the appointments are expected to fill quickly and people may not be able to make family appointments for the same time. Everyone who arrives to be vaccinated must have an appointment.

Individuals arriving to be vaccinated should ender the Speedway grounds via the Leipsic Road entrance, not the main entrance from Route 13. Individuals must bring personal identification such as a drivers license or photo idea, proof of first COVID vaccination, and confirmation of their appointment.
