3rd Candidates jumps in the race against Congressman Andy Harris

MARYLAND
Candidates are crowding the first congressional district race against Andy Harris.
Activist Mia Mason becomes the third candidate in the race.
Mason lost to Harris last year, after winning the democratic nomination.
The former small business owner says her main causes include mental health, the fight against fossil fuels, and other progressive issues.
Specifically on the eastern shore, she wants to expand access to broadband.
She spoke with 47ABC and explained why she could be a winner this time around- especially with the district lines changing after the 2020 census.
Mason tells 47ABC, “I hope that redistricting helps us out, gives us a competitive advantage, it’s going to be exciting to see where this goes and once we’re vaccinated, going door to door in our communities. “
While the two other candidates noted Harris’s attempt to bring a gun into the capitol as an inspiration for running, Mason’s issues with the incumbent run deeper than that.
She continues, “What really motivated me to run for office is him {Harris} voting against impeachment, him voting against the cares act and then flip flopping, him voting against abortion, and then flip flopping when it came to stem cells, him voting present when it came to Qanon conspiracy theories and him voting down every project here on the eastern shore by band aiding it with a grant.”
