$230K is going to the Salisbury Neighborhood Housing Services Inc. to help preserve resources during the pandemic

MARYLAND- Senator Chris Van Hollen along with Senator Ben Cardin announced this week that more than $200,000 dollars is going to the Salisbury Neighborhood Housing Services Incorporated.

We are told the funding will help develop and preserve affordable housing, revitalize and sustain neighborhoods, and create local jobs.

It will also help the the Salisbury Neighborhood Housing Services provide counseling assistance to families in need.

Sen.Van Hollen said during these uncertain times it’s important to work together to provide more stable communities.

“This is an example of partnerships between the federal government and local groups that are focused on affordable housing and helping that we make sure we have strong stable communities,” Sen. Van Hollen said.

We are told the funding comes from the NeighborWorks America, which is a public nonprofit organization made by Congress.

Senator Van Hollen said Wicomico County will receive additional funding to help with rental assistance as part of the American Recovery and Rescue Plan.
