Wicomico Health Dept. explains vaccination process at the Civic Center

SALISBURY, Md.- Friday the Wicomico County Health Department gave us an inside look at the COVID-19 vaccination process at the Civic Center.

First thing you need to know is that you need to have an appointment.

When you arrive, someone will check you in and then you hop into line,  socially distanced.

Then when it’s your turn a nurse will take you to a vaccination station, where they gather a bit more information from you before you get your dose.

After you receive that, you have to spend 15 minutes in their waiting area so they can monitor you and also schedule an appointment for your second dose.

“We’ve had a lot of positive feedback on how smoothly this is run, I think the hardest thing right now is people being frustrated that they can’t get an appointment, which we understand that it’s a daunting task making sure we have enough vaccines, so that we can schedule appoints,” Jennifer Johnson, PIO for Wicomico Health Dept., said.

Jennifer Johnson with the health department says people should double check where they’re supposed to go to get their vaccine, since she says many are confusing the locations of the TidalHealth Clinic and the Health Department’s.
