The Shepherd’s Office recognized by state for their contribution in helping the community
GEORGETOWN, Del.- The Shepherds Office in Georgetown received some exciting news recently.
They’re being recognized by Delaware’s State Office of Volunteerism.
Jim Martin, the founder of the homeless resource center, said they were an honoree for the Governor’s Outstanding Volunteer Service Awards, in the category, Non-profit Volunteer Program.
This award honors the contributions of individuals and groups in Delaware that have made a positive impact in their communities or across the state through service and volunteering.
Martin said their work couldn’t be done without all their volunteers.
“I’m very grateful because it cant be done by one person, it really involves so many moving parts,” Martin said.
“They saw that were doing a lot of heavy lifting and a lot of man hours being volunteer hours and I think they gave us a pat on the back saying keep going and we’re hoping that we’re going to keep going into 2021,” Martin added.
Jim Martin said there will be a virtual awards ceremony at 7 p.m. on January 18th.
