Salisbury taxi company faces a new challenge after New Years

SALISBURY, Md. – During the pandemic, some taxi companies have struggled to stay afloat. Fortunately for one Salisbury taxi company they saw a major increase in demand over New Years, however, they say that actually brought about a new challenge.

During the pandemic, many drivers and clients haven’t felt comfortable riding in a car with someone because of the risk of passing germs. That coupled with restrictions and fewer places for people to go, has cut Taxi ETC’s calls in half.

But even with fewer clients and taxi drivers, the company says they’ve managed to stay afloat. Over New Years though, the company saw a boom in business but this created some problems because clients had to wait longer since there weren’t enough drivers to meet the demand.

“With COVID, it is a very scary thing, so we do understand, we just hope that our clients understand as well, with the long waits that come with it,” says co-owner of Taxi ETC LLC, Cindey Meadows. “If anybody would like to come out and drive we would definitely need the help because I know when the money comes out then the people are going to come out again,” Meadows adds.

Taxi ETC in Salisbury says if you’re interested in becoming a taxi driver, you can give them a call at (443)-754-0211.
