Police: Wanted out-of-state fugitive with $1 billion cash bail arrested in Dover
DOVER, Del. – Police say they arrested an out of state fugitive in the Dover area this week with a $1 billion cash bail and a $200,000 cash bail warrant.
On Wednesday, the U.S. Marshals Service and members of the Dover Police Department responded to a home in the 300 block of Billie Mitchell Lane in an attempt to locate the wanted subject, 30-year-old Corey Lewis. U.S. Marshals tried to make contact with Lewis, who then reportedly barricaded the door of the apartment to prevent entry. Delaware State Police were notified and called to the scene, while U.S. Marshals made contact with Lewis on the phone and began negotiating with him to come out.
Lewis eventually came out of the apartment on his own and was taken into custody without further incident. Police discovered marijuana and cash on his person, and the apartment had an odor of marijuana emanating from it, leading to a search warrant being executed. We’re told a total of 172.13 grams of marijuana, $400 in cash, and a digital scale was recovered.
Lewis was charged with drug dealing, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia, and was held at SCI on an out of state detainer.
