Nursing home asking for the community’s help to give residents a special Valentine’s Day
CRISFIELD, Md.- The Alice B. Tawes Nursing Home needs the community’s help to bring smiles to their residents on Valentine’s Day.
We are told because the residents at the nursing home have been couped up inside and have not had visitors due to COVID-19- staff wanted to do something special for them this Valentines Day.
They are asking that the community send Valentines Cards to the residents that will then be given out by staff.
Staff at the nursing home are hoping that these cards will keep residents engaged and inform them that they are still in the hearts of many.
“So, to be able to see the joy on their face from opening the cards and just letting them know that everyone’s thinking about them and that people do care about them even though they can’t come in and see them it just means the world to us as the staff,” Lisa Tull, a RN and DON, said.
We are told for community or church groups, scout troops or anyone in need of a kindness focused, artistic, community-boosting activity, they welcome large batches of cards.
Anyone who would like to send a card, can send them directly to the Alice B. Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield.
