Dover traffic stop leads to discovery of gun, drugs
DOVER, Del. – Police say a traffic stop Friday evening led to charges for two in Dover.
At around 10:20 p.m., an officer on patrol stopped a vehicle for traffic violations in the area of Paul Street and Irma Street. Contact was made with the driver, 22-year-old Antwoine Price, and a passenger, 18-year-old Jason Brewster. Marijuana was detected coming from inside the vehicle, and a subsequent search led to the discovery of a 9mm handgun and 6.2 grams of marijuana.
Price was charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, breach of release, third degree conspiracy, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and traffic offenses. He was held at SCI on a $10,900 cash bond.
Brewster was charged with third degree conspiracy, possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. He was later released.
