Dover police investigating shooting, one injured

Dover, DE – Dover police say they are investigating a shooting that left one man injured on Thursday night.

Around 5 p.m. authorities say they were called by a 28-year-old man who said he had been shot and was driving himself to the Bayhealth Kent General Hospital.

Police met the victim at the Dover Post Office on Lockerman Street and took him the rest of the way by ambulance.

Investigators say they believe the victim got into a fight with someone else inside of a home and during that fight a gun was pulled out.

We’re told the two began to fight over the gun and the trigger was pulled, striking the victim once in the torso.

That investigation is ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to call the Dover Police at 302-736-7130.
