Skills USA group in Dorcester Co. donates supplies to Salvation Army for homeless

DORCHESTER CO., Md. – A group of students and staff joined together over the weekend to give back to the community and those in need.

The Skills USA group at the Dorchester Career and Technology Center organized a collection of supplies to help the local Salvation Army serve the homeless population. Students and staff gathered boxes of blankets, socks, toiletries, and other essential items.

A teacher with Skills USA says that service projects not only help those in need, but also helps students think about diversity and respecting others. A member with the Salvation Army thanked the group for their donations and said it is heartwarming to see the next generation of their community caring for others.
