Salisbury Middle School gives families holiday food drive-thru Wednesday with community’s support

SALISBURY, Md.- Salisbury Middle School had a holiday food drive Wednesday evening.

We are told the school has been hosting food drive- thru every two weeks since the beginning of October.

The Dean of Students, Carrie Reeve,  said the last couple of weeks from Thanksgiving to now have been a little harder because food bank donations have dropped.

Reeve said she recently put out a Facebook post saying the school needed more food for their distribution today.

She said the response she got was more than she could have imagined and is extra important because the school won’t have another distribution during this winter break.

“We really felt like it was important to make sure that this one was a little bigger and better to help people get through those two weeks,” Carrie Reeve, Dean of Students of Salisbury Middle School, said. “The outpouring of support and willingness to help other people during this crazy year has been more than i could have ever imagined.”

Reeve said that people have donated so much that they will have plenty of food for after the holidays.

She added they will still do two week distributions after the winter break, and anyone who will need food can call the school for assistance.
