Police: An intoxicated man allegedly destroys building door with a log in Easton

EASTON, Md. – An intoxicated man was arrested after maliciously destroying a property, including throwing a large log at the door of a building.

Friday evening, officers responded to the area of Ocean Gateway and the North end of the Bypass after receiving a report of a male attempting to kick vehicles driving by.

Officials say, the suspect could not be found until they responded to an alarm on 9017 Centreville Road where they were told a male was yelling at vehicles demanding to give him a ride.

Officers checked the alarm and found 53 year old Timothy O’Brien from Edgewater. Further investigation revealed, O’Brien threw a large log at the door of a building to set the alarm off and gain attention and he was found to be intoxicated at the time.

He was arrested and charged with malicious destruction of property, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, intoxicated public disturbance, intentional false alarm, and hindering passage.

O’Brien was transported to the Talbot County Detention Center where he was seen by a District Court Commissioner.
