Police: 260 bags of heroin found during traffic stop, pair arrested

DOVER, Del. – Dover Police arrested two men after heroin and marijuana were found during a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon.

Police say at around 12:45 p.m., they stopped a vehicle for a seatbelt violation in the area of Lincoln Street and Reese Street. During the stop, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana and conducted a search of the vehicle, driver, and passenger. Officers then recovered a total of 260 bags of heroin and 27 grams of marijuana.

The pair, identified as 26-year-old Cahlil Simmons and 21-year-old Daeron May, were arrested following the search. Simmons was charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. He was later released on an unsecured bond.

May was charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, tampering with physical evidence, and capias. He was held at SCI on a $13,000 secured bond.
