New outdoor live entertainment venue opens in Easton

EASTON, Md. – A massive outdoor live entertainment venue is officially open and hosting events for the community in Easton.

The Stoltz Pavilion, which is a part of the historic Avalon Theatre, was completed in November. Theatre officials say the large outdoor tent provides a space where people can enjoy shows while socially distancing and adhering to other health protocols. Most recently, they’ve been putting on a show called “Ho Ho Hope: A COVID Christmas Play.” Those with the theatre say, everyone involved in the production is excited to be able to bring performing arts back to the community in a safe way.

“The reaction is they can’t believe they are getting to perform again. It’s like a kid in a candy shop is kind of how they are feeling about it. It’s not just gratitude. It’s more than that,” says Al Bond, the President and CEO of the Avalon Foundation.

Bond says they will continue putting on events at the new Stoltz Pavlion as long as they are allowed to but because of the ever changing restrictions they are not booking far in advance.
