Local businesses donate to Caroline Co. Schools Helping Hands program

CAROLINE CO., Md. – Over 600 students in Caroline County are warm and taken care of thanks to two organizations who wanted to lend a helping hand.

The Choptank Community Health System and Preston Automotive Group announced they donated a total of 609 pairs of hats and gloves to the Caroline County Public Schools Helping Hands program. The program provides students with backpacks filled with food for the weekend so they are well fed.

The Helping Hands program director said in a statement, “Our backpacks program is only made possible through support of sponsors and businesses like Choptank and Preston. Together we are making a real difference in making sure no child goes hungry in Caroline County.
