Fruitland man arrested for armed robbery of convenience store
SALISBURY, Md. – A Fruitland man has been arrested in connection to an armed robbery that took place last week.
We’re told shortly before 8 p.m. on December 2nd, deputies responded to Vintage Beer and Wines, located at 610 Snow Hill Road, for a reported armed robbery. It was learned that the suspect entered the store and pulled out a handgun while demanding money from the two store employees. The suspect then fled the area.
Deputies gathered initial information, secured the scene, and conducted a canine track. Through investigation, detectives were able to identify the suspect as 21-year-old Jesse Drummond of Fruitland.
On Monday, detectives were assisted by the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Community Action Team and the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force in locating and arresting Drummond. We’re told detectives also recovered a weapon that is believed to have been used during the robbery.
Drummond was charged with two counts each of armed robbery, robbery, firearm use during a felony/violent crime, and theft $100 to under $1500.
