DSP investigating car crash that left one person dead Saturday night in Ellendale

ELLENDALE, Del.- Delaware State Police are investigating a single car crash that left one person dead Saturday night in Ellendale.

Police said around 10:30 p.m., a 1999 BMW 323i, was traveling northbound on DuPont Blvd., just north of East Robbins Rd.

We are told for unknown reasons the car went off the road and hit a large tree.

Police said the driver, a 27-year-old, Georgetown woman, was properly restrained and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Identification of the victim is pending notification to next of kin.

Northbound DuPont Boulevard was closed for approximately 3 hours during the investigation and clean-up.
