Dover Police investigating Christmas morning homicide

12/30 UPDATE: Police have identified the victim in this homicide as 29-year-old Jermaine Scott of Dover.

The investigation is continuing, and further details of the case are being withheld at this time for investigative purposes.

DOVER, Del. – Police are investigating a homicide that happened early Friday morning in Dover.

Dover police say they responded around 2:15 AM to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital for a report of a gunshot victim.  Investigators learned a man was shot near 820 Carvel Drive in the area of the Town Pointe Apartments. The victim arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle but died from his injuries shortly after.

Police are not releasing the victim’s name or age until his family has been notified.
