Cambridge bank robbery under investigation
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Cambridge Police are investigating a bank robbery that took place Tuesday morning.
At around 8:40 a.m., officers responded to the 1880 Bank, located at 304 High Street. It was learned that the suspects had fled from the bank and were running on foot toward the West End area.
Further investigation revealed that four subjects had entered the bank armed and forced an employee to the vault, ultimately stealing a large sum of money. One of the employees at the bank was reportedly assaulted when hit by the handgun.
Officers were able to locate three of the suspects, as well as one handgun involved in the incident and the stolen money. More information on the suspects will be released at a later time, but police tell us one of the suspects involved was a juvenile.
