Woodbridge opens their season with a statement shutout over Lake
FELTON, Del.- Scoring 35 points in the first half, the Woodbridge Blue Raiders shut out Lake Forest 35-0 to open their season at 1-0. The loss drops Lake to 0-3 for the first time since 2016.
From the opening drive, it was all Blue Raiders. After forcing a three and out to open the game on defense, the WB offense went to work. On they first play from scrimmage, Tyrez Cannon broke off a 50 yard run to get the ball inside the 25. A few plays later, Cannon finished off the drive with a three yard score for the first points of the Blue Raiders season.
Woodbridge went on to score 28 consecutive points in the first half, including rushing touchdowns from Jaden Bacon, Kenny Newton (2 TDs), and a fumble recovery returned by Rasheed Stones, forced by Wyatt Wright.
The Blue Raiders return to the field when they travel to Dagsboro to take on Indian River this Friday at 6 pm. The Spartans, still looking for their first win of the season, host Seaford Friday at 5 pm.
