Veterans Day 2020: celebration changes due to the coronavirus pandemic

SEAFORD, Del. – Veterans Day is now a little over a week away, but there may be some changes this year to ceremonies because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The City of Seaford says they’ll be hosting their Veterans Day Ceremony on November 11th in a drive-thru style. They add people will be able to step out of their cars, but they will be required to wear a mask and maintain social distance.
There will also be no speaker, which means the ceremony will be shorter than usual. Some people tell 47ABC they’ll do whatever they can to honor our veterans during this difficult time.
“No matter what’s going on we still as a community and a nation still need to recognize those that have served and sacrificed everything for us,” said the Seaford Police Department Deputy Chief Michael Rapa.
The Seaford Veterans Day Drive-in Ceremony will begin at 11 AM.
