Unofficial results for Wicomico County Council’s District 2 show Nicole Acle coming out on top

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md.- For Wicomico County Council’s District 2 race we have Incumbent Nicole Acle running against Alex Scott.

The Maryland Board of Elections results Wednesday morning show that Nicole Acle is coming out on top with 55.8% of the vote and Alexander Scott with 44%.

Acle is a conservative republican who was appointed in 2019 when former Councilman Marc Kilmer stepped down. Her main focuses for her campaign is educational advocacy as families and students deal with the coronavirus pandemic.

Acle is big on public safety, she is pro-second amendment, and understands the importance of environmental issues and the impact on development, health and safety of the community.

Alex Scott is a business man. He owns the Brick Room in Salisbury. His campaign focuses on investing in the educational system in order to prepare students for the real world. Scott said after seeing how the county council handled the search process for the next County Executive he feels there needs to be more transparency. Like Acle, he wants to focus on the environment to ensure Wicomico County is a healthy and thriving community.

Both candidates said they do want to help businesses and residents impacted by the pandemic.

Provisional ballots for the race will be counted in days to come.
