The Art of Chula open for business in downtown Salisbury, new shop aiming to empower women

SALISBURY, Md.- A new business, called The Art of Chula, just moved into a space downtown, and they’re ready to leave their mark on the community.

The Art of Chula held their grand opening Saturday at 4 p.m.

We’re told the new shop creates an experience where women can go to get eyelash extensions, body contouring services, and Dominican blowouts.

People can also shop items such as earrings, purses, sweaters, and apparel from another business called SimplyComplex Boutique.

The owner said she started this business in her home and wanted to expand, and now that the store is finished she’s looking forward to working with the community and empowering women.

“Bring a place where anyone can come in and leave with a confidence level that they originally didn’t walk in with and ultimately I want to empower woman not just woman of color, but all nationalities,” Clarice Melenciano, the owner, The Art Of Chula, said.

The owner said trying to open a business during the pandemic has been a challenge, especially with state restrictions, but she said she pushed through.

We’re told the services are based on appointments, and you can learn more about that on their website, theartofchula.com
