Shore Up! partnering with organizations to bring Thanksgiving meals to local families

SALISBURY, Md.- Shore UP Inc. is partnering with Streets Incorporated and Life Changing Ministries to offer holiday baskets to low-income families.

They will be providing Thanksgiving holiday dinners to some of the agency’s Foster Grandparents Program and to families in the Head Start and Early Head Start programs.

The baskets include food such as a turkey and canned goods.

We are told right now, there are many people who are lacking back necessities and they want to be there for those who need it most.

“This is so important because we have families in our service area because of COVID primarily who are having to choose between eating a good hot meal and paying their rent for example or who have larger families and cant feed the entire families,” Tameka Norman, Chief Development & Communications Officer for Shore UP! Inc., said.

Norman said that Shore UP! will be able to help around 10 families with their partnership.

She added that Shore UP! has been helping families who need food and that are impacted by COVID.

That includes giving lunches to their Early Head Start families.
