Salisbury Police Officer helps family in need

SALISBURY, Md. – One local law enforcement officer went above and beyond to help a family in need.

On Halloween night, Officer Sipple with the Salisbury Police Department was called out to a vehicle that a family had been sleeping in. Housing First Salisbury says officer Sipple recognized the family as being victims of a house fire that happened earlier in the year, so he tried to call for social serve to help, but since it was a weekend no one was available. Sipple ended up paying for a hotel room for the family for three nights, and also spent over $100 of his own money on a gift card for food.

We’re told the family is now in a shelter and is safe.
