Salisbury PFLAG hoping to raise donations during Shore Gives More

Salisbury, MD – Giving Tuesday is just over one week away and in the days leading to December 1st we are highlighting some non-profits you’ll see on the list to donate to.

Next Tuesday the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore is encouraging you to donate to the group of your choice. Among the 95 non-profits on the list is the Salisbury chapter of PFLAG.

The non-profit is an advocacy group and resource center for those in the LGBTQ plus community.

Mark DeLancey, the executive director of the organization, tells 47 ABC they’re asking for funds to support LGBTQ plus youth to connect with each other and a trained therapist to help navigate through any issues or feelings during the pandemic.

“We are one of the only PFLAG chapters here on the eastern shore that is able to only deal with LGBTQ people, whether its allies, friends, or family members who are or recognize as LGBTQ or non-binary or questioning” DeLancey said. “So it definitely covers a wide spectrum of everyone all over the Eastern Shore.”

DeLancey says he hopes the donors keep his organization in mind because they are unique, serving a wide range of of people on the Shore.
