Preston home damaged by fire
PRESTON, Md. – Maryland fire officials are investigating a fire that damaged a Caroline County home Thursday afternoon.
We’re told the blaze was reported at around 2:40 p.m., at 23350 Grove Road in Preston. A passerby observed the fire and called 911, and it was determined that the house was unoccupied at the time of the blaze. A total of 30 firefighters responded and had the fire placed under control in approximately 20 minutes.
Further investigation determined that the fire began in an interior laundry room, and damage was contained to that room. Damage has been estimated at $20,000.
The owner is currently being assisted by family and friends. Fire marshals are asking anyone with information on the fire to call 410-822-7609.
