New telethon event in Salisbury to raise money for local church starting Friday

SALISBURY, Md.- In Salisbury,  St. Peter’s Episcopal Church said they’re hosting an online telethon to help fundraise.

Usually, they have everyone come to the Church for a “fall bazaar,” to raise money to continue to provide church members with services.

But this year due to COVID-19, they are going to stream the event online this Friday and Saturday.

People can expect to bid on holiday gift baskets and buy food items.

In addition, there will be live entertainment and information on how the church is being active in the community.

“It’s very hard, it’s very difficult we are pretty traditional we like to do things the same way so we are challenged, but we also want to be safe and we want to be able to continue our ministries as we have been doing them,  so we’ve had to be creative,” The Rev. David Michaud, of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, said.

We are told the telethon starts Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and then Saturday from 9 to noon.

People can view the telethon on the church’s facebook page or their website at Stpeterschurch.net
