While Knight, a retired dentist and business person, brought in 707 votes.

Both said they are eager to start this new journey.

Knight and Buas both said the council is already looking at ideas they want to address for the future.

Some of those include increasing public safety, budget issues, and special event issues.

“We want to bring forward a sports tourism for the Ocean City area we’re going to hire an economic development director to go out and sell Ocean City to bring in major sport tournaments to fill up our shoulder months,” Knight said.

Both said they are ready to hit the ground running and ready to have open ears to serve the public’s needs.

“Gotta work with business owners, residents alike to solve our issues, we can’t think of everything so the residents and businesses are going to help us do that and I hope I can be the medium to make that happen,” Buas said.
