Major decrease in blood donations leads to partnership between Beebe Healthcare and Bayhealth

DELAWARE – Today, Beebe Healthcare and Bayhealth announced a partnership with the Blood Bank of Delmarva, to increase blood donations during the pandemic, specifically among high school and college students.

The Blood Bank says donation drives at schools are suspended indefinitely due to COVID-19. We’re told those blood drives in Kent and Sussex County account for 25 percent of their daily collections.

To increase donations, they’re asking students to make appointments at the Dover and Salisbury Donor Centers, which now have extended hours on the weekends.  To make an appointment you can call 1-888-825-6638 or visit delmarvablood.org
