Local man honored for helping person in need
LAUREL, Del. – One good samaritan was recognized by a local police department for going above and beyond to help a man who was lost.
On Monday, David King received the Mayor’s Excellence Award and the Chief of Police Civilian Citation. We’re told over the summer, Mr. King came in contact with a lost and confused man pushing a bicycle. When he went up to the elderly man, he realized he needed assistance, so he gave him food and water. He then helped him get home by contacting the Laurel Police Department.
Laurel PD says that man had been lost for almost 24 hours and rode his bicycle 26 miles from his home. The police department thanked King for his kindness and helping another person during these troubled times.
