Hit and run in Georgetown leaves one man in critical condition Saturday evening

GEORGETOWN, Del.- Delaware State Police are investigating a hit and run incident that injured a pedestrian Saturday evening.

Police said around 6:30 p.m. a car was driving eastbound on East Trap Pond Rd. when a 41-year-old man, of Columbia, PA, was walking eastbound in the westbound lane.

We are told as the car approached the man the car went into the westbound travel lane, while trying to pass another car.

Police said while passing the other car, the left front of the car hit the man.

Officers said the man was airlifted to an area hospital in critical condition.

Police said after the incident the car left the scene.

A possible vehicle description is a white 4-door Nissan Altima or similar model with Delaware Registration. The vehicle has left front damage and missing left side mirror.

The crash is being investigated so anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call police at 302-703-3264.
