UPDATE: DSP investigating industrial accident in Bethany Beach
BETHANY BEACH, Del. – Delaware State Police say two people were killed in an industrial accident in Bethany Beach Monday morning.
At around 10:30 a.m., troopers responded to the Sussex Shores Water Company for a reported industrial accident. It was learned that 22-year-old Bryan Maldonado Andino and 23-year-old Jovan Maldonado, both of Puerto Rico, were working in a Z135 Man Lift to install new antennas for Velex company on the water tower of Sussex Shores Water Company. The two were approximately 120 feet off the ground when a strong wind caused the lift to tip over and become tangled in the surrounding electrical wires as it fell to the ground.
Andino and Maldonado were pronounced dead at the scene.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation. Anyone with information should contact Detective P. Hailey at 302-752-3810.
