Coronavirus cases across the shore: November 17, 2020


DELMARVA – Here is a look at COVID-19 cases across the Eastern Shore.

Maryland added 2,149 new cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the statewide total to 169,805. The statewide positivity rate is now up to 6.85%, and more than 1,000 patients are currently hospitalized due to the virus. Wicomico County added 42 new cases, bringing their total to 2,956, with a positivity rate of 6.86%, up from 5.91% yesterday. Worcester County added 15 new cases and is now up to 1,377 confirmed cases, with a positivity rate of 7%, up from the previous day’s 6.43%.

In Delaware, 322 new cases were added overnight, bringing the state’s total to 29,522. The state’s positivity rate is up just slightly from yesterday, now at 12.7%. Sussex County added 55 new cases and has a positivity rate of 11.7%, down 1% from yesterday.

Virginia added more than 2,000 new cases overnight, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 187,287. Accomack added 8 new cases and sits at a total of 1,266.
