OCEAN CITY, Md. – As you begin your holiday shopping this season, the Art League of Ocean City is urging you to buy not just local, but from local artists as well.

The Art League is celebrating Artist Sunday this year, which is the Sunday after Black Friday. It’s a nationwide effort that’s meant to encourage people to buy from local artists and support their small businesses.

The Art League tells us that while it’s always important to support the arts, it’s especially important this year during the pandemic.

“Covid has really done a number on a lot of local artists business, commission wise, and just being able to be open and have the public in their shops, so we really want to draw attention to our local artisans and make sure that they have a spotlight,” Megan Burak, with the Art League, said.

To celebrate the day, the Art League is offering $5.00 off a one year membership, and $10.00 off a two year membership. They’re also offering 10% off to all members and non members on Artist Sunday.
