Wicomico Co. Humane Society puts on Halloween event, hoping to raise money for shelter

SALISBURY, Md.- Families came out to support the humane society Saturday for a socially distanced, outdoor Halloween event at the shelter.

The Humane Society of Wicomico County put on this celebration at 2 p.m.

Dogs at the shelter dressed up and families were encouraged to come dressed up as well with their pets.

There was candy for the kids and people could take professional Halloween pictures for just a donation of $10.

The shelter hopes by putting on this event it will bring some exposure to their animals, as well as give families a chance to have some fun.

“Our goal really is for everyone to have a great time, we would love for us to make some money because we did take a huge hit this year, but yea we just want everyone to have a good time, enjoy Halloween,” Megan Koester, Event & Volunteer Coordinator, said.

The event ended at 4 p.m. and guests were required to where masks.

There was also a parade at 3 p.m. that families could participate in.
