Western Sussex Boys and Girls Club Trunk or Treat event with a twist October 23

SEAFORD, Del.- The Western Sussex Boys and Girls Club will be hosting their annual Trunk or Treat with a social distancing twist this year.

We are told on October 23 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. they will have decorated cars in their parking lot from businesses all over Seaford and surrounding areas to celebrate Trunk or Treat.

The idea is to park cars of the local businesses in every other parking space.

Families in the community will then drive through and gather candy from the businesses handing out candy from their trunks.

We are told while this event is different, it is still crucial to support children and local businesses during this hard time.

“I think it’s so important for our kids to know that we do still care, we understand that they are struggling, we are struggling, but by hosting this event I hope it brings a little bit of joy to them,” Melissa Ockels, 21st Century Community Learning Center’s Family, School and Community Engagement Specialist, said.

This event is free to the public.

For anyone who would like to participate in the event or volunteer, you can reach out to Melissa Ockels though email at MOckels@bgclubs.org.
