Weather Tidbits: Extratropical Cyclone

This Weather Tidbits starts our miniseries on cyclones, starting with extratropical cyclones. An extratropical cyclone or mid-latitude has cold air in its core and is associated with fronts. These storms derives its energy from the release of potential energy from the interaction of warm and cold air. They generally do not form around the center of the storm with expansive wind fields.
