Salisbury launches ‘Shop Local’ campaign to encourage support of local businesses

SALISBURY, Md. – Today, Salisbury city officials launched their ‘Shop Local’ campaign to encourage people to support local businesses now more than ever before. Officials say whether it’s stopping by to buy a small cup of coffee, or buying some new clothes, whatever you decide to do, it can mean the world to a small business who may be struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic. To make shopping even easier campaign officials also have a website up on the city’s website that features locally owned and operated businesses, what they offer, where they are located, and more. The website also has the option for users to view minority-owned, veteran-owned, LGBTQ-owned, and women-owned businesses in Salisbury.

“The community has an opportunity to really invest in those that are invested in our community. Now more than ever, these small business owners need our help and this is definitely the time to show it,” said Director of Business Development for the City of Salisbury, Laura Soper.

Locally owned businesses are encouraged to add their business’ information to the Shop Local Directory by visiting the city’s website.
